Although cooking at home is by far the healthiest choice, sometimes you just need a break. That doesn’t mean you need to throw your healthy diet out the window. Next time you want to grab a bite that you don’t have to cook – choose these healthier menu items.

Panera Bread

If you need a light breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Panera Bread offers a great selection of menu items made with fresh and nutritious ingredients. They also offer choices that are lower in sodium, and gluten-free.

If you want to get the healthiest of options, their strawberry poppyseed salad with chicken is the way to go. Although it isn’t the lowest-calorie option, it has a full six grams of fiber and a whopping 25 grams of protein.

At Subway you can fill up on tons of fresh veggies and healthy toppings without all of the added calories and fat. By choosing what you put on your sandwich, you can control how healthy or unhealthy your meal is.

If you want to order and go, the Fit Fresh menu choices are all excellent options. The Fit Fresh Roast Beef Sandwich is the most nutritious. It has 25 grams of protein and only 320 calories.

Chipotle

Aside from free delivery during the pandemic, Chipotle is a great way to keep it healthy. You’ll have to skip the less healthy ingredients, but if you order right, you’ll get a nutritious and healthy meal.

You can build the healthiest meal, by choosing the steak burrito bowl with brown rice and black beans. Add all the veggies you want for extra nutrition, but skip the sour cream, cheese, and guacamole.

McDonald’s

Although McDonald’s has never been known as a healthy choice, the fact is they are in just about every neighborhood. If you must get a super-fast bite to eat, you should at least know what to order!

Keep it simple and you order the classic McDonald’s cheeseburger. Their cheeseburger has only 300 calories and comes with cheese, onions, pickles, and ketchup. You’ll get 15 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber. If you want to add a side, choose the apple slices and skip the fries.
